Event Name is "Cancel" Is it a bug in Details View? However, this does not solve my problem because, as you see, I want to generate templates basing on value from View State, and View State is not available on init...
In this example it will of course work, because Get Fake Data() will be called but in real application it would be unacceptable to hit the database on each page request...
SPItem Event Receiver has a property called Event Firing Enabled, which simply indicates whether event firing is enabled.
We can turn this off to prevent our loop from occuring.
Cheers, Clara I have a similar issue only I use formview.
When page enableviewstate false updating event is not firing.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be very welcome, and if you need any more code info just yell! Everything works fine, except the fact that Update button behaves like Cancel button! You can even add Item Command event and find out that on clicking Update button, e. When i put Generate Templates() method on Init - update event works OK.What if I need to disable event firing on a list, i.e.when I don't have the context of the list in question.Next, in our Dispose method, we simply set the value back and you're done.
